Changes are cheap on a drawing and expensive on site. Virtual reality moves the most important design decisions to the moment when changing them costs almost nothing. These are the five we see clients benefit from most.
1. Space and proportions
Is the living room too long? Does the double-height space feel grand or empty? Standing inside the space at true eye level answers questions that plans and sections cannot.
2. Natural light and views
VR shows where the sun enters, which rooms stay dark and what you actually see from each window. Window sizes and positions can be adjusted before the façade is built.
3. Materials and colours
A marble sample in your hand looks different on a full wall. In the tour you see finishes at real scale and under the project's lighting, and we can compare alternatives side by side.
4. Furniture and circulation
Walking through the furnished space reveals tight corridors, doors that clash with furniture and seating that blocks the flow – problems that are easy to fix in the model and painful to fix after handover.
5. Lighting design
Indirect lighting, pendants and accent lights set the atmosphere of a home. Seeing the evening scene in VR lets you approve the lighting design with confidence.
At FUMES Architects every VR review ends with a clear list of agreed changes, so the construction drawings reflect decisions you have already seen and approved.
